Mireille, a poor alchemist from the countryside, arrives in the royal capital at the age of 13. It’s only to discover that alchemy has long declined. However, it turns out that, by the world’s standards, she is actually an alchemist of the highest caliber.

In this kingdom, turning 13 marks the “Coming-of-Age Ceremony.” It’s where one is recognized as half an adult and even eligible for marriage.

Mireille starts out selling potions at a street stall, leading to a bit of drama over which merchant guild she should join. Eventually, she rents a shop space and officially opens her alchemy and potion store.

Her days are filled with excitement—her new products sell too well, her pet slime unexpectedly proves useful, a fire causes a chaotic disaster, and there’s even an uproar over the leaves of Yggdrasil, the World Tree!

Amidst all the hustle and bustle, Mireille enjoys life in the royal capital with her trusty slime companion. As she manages her alchemy shop, she also shares her home with a beautiful young apprentice and welcomes a part-time maid into their daily lives.
