In the main stage of the story, the Grand City, Chumie is searching for his foe Smiley that he swore to revenge, and living his days centering only this wish of him.

When Chumie enters a certain church following his intel, he is arrested by Bocchi Thaidalla, a big-shot member of the Grand City’s public security maintenance organization, Purge Officers. While facing his fatal moment, Chumie is surprisingly offered a proposal—to join the Purge Officers as provisional cooperator. His assigned partner is Silvie, the one who “keeps having her partnerships cancelled by her previous partners.” As the duo with exactly opposite personalities, Chumie and Silvie have a hard time getting along with each other at first, but….
