“You’re just like a background character in a rom-com.”
One day, out of nowhere, someone said that to Kohinata Seiya. It was in that moment that he realized he was right. He had always seen himself as just another extra in the story.
But he didn’t want that anymore. No matter what, he wanted to be the protagonist.
With that resolve, he dedicated himself to change. A year later, on the day he entered high school, he happened to step in and prevent a fateful collision at a street corner—saving a delicate, almost ethereal beauty named Mizusumi Akari and a calm, gentle boy named Kanzaki Yuuri.
Seiya had no idea. He didn’t know that his world truly had rom-com elements woven into it, nor did he realize that the two people he just saved were the main heroine and the original protagonist of that story.
Unaware of everything, Seiya grew closer to Akari and Yuuri, becoming someone they confided in. He listened to their worries, offered his help, and before he knew it, Akari grew deeply attached to him. Without even realizing it, he ended up saving the so-called “losing heroine” of the original story. Even the reincarnators who were supposed to take over as the new protagonists found themselves sidelined as Seiya naturally became an irreplaceable presence to the heroines.
This is the story of a boy who, after becoming self-aware of his “mob character” status, fights to break free from it. Sometimes with passion, sometimes without even realizing it, he overcomes various challenges and, alongside the original heroines, creates the best youth story of all.
