“Do you truly believe this marriage will work if you miscarried?”

As soon as Bridget lost her child, she was accused by her husband, Ain.

He was a man who put a price on everything in the world. If their marriage was only worth something because of the child in her womb, his public criticism meant that it had lost all value.

“If your pregnancy was a lie from the beginning, then your vow before God was broken from the start.”

Her husband sought to have their marriage annulled, and the moment he denied the very existence of the child for that purpose, Bridget resolved to sever ties with him altogether.
