A sacred court observed by the Sultan. Anais, a platinum-blonde woman, stands before three judges and hundreds of spectators, defending why she should leave the Sultan’s harem.

Following her father to this desert country was her mistake. When she regained consciousness after exploring a night market, she was already inside the harem. Trapped in the harem of Karim Kamar Assad, the fifth son of the Padisha, Anais spends her nights in the Sultan’s embrace, enduring days of shame and humiliation. Her only solace is Hashim, a scholar of law. While enduring by learning the Kamar language from him, Anais finally gets an opportunity when Karim becomes the Padisha.

Having found a law stating that foreigners cannot exist in the Padisha’s harem, Anais manages to open a trial after great difficulty. The trial proceeds in an unpredictable direction.
